About ACCA

ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is the largest and fastest-growing international accountancy body with 260,000 students and 110,000 members in 170 countries. We aim to offer the first choice qualifications to people of application, ability and ambition around the world who seek a rewarding career in accountancy, finance and management.

We deliver our qualifications in partnership with many organisations. We operate 21 joint examination schemes with national bodies around the world and work closely with 420 registered tuition providers and 7,500 employers of accountants and finance professionals. We aim to support our students and members throughout their careers, delivering services through a network of nearly 80 offices and centres.

Our suit of Qualifications

  • ACCA Proffesional – Divided into 2 Parts, Fundamentals (Knowledge and Skills) and Professional, this qualification leads to one becoming a Chartered Certified Accountant. Exemptions may be awarded based on the qualification that one holds. No exemptions are awarded at the final level (Professional). The entry requirements are:
    • Minimum: 2 A levels and 3 O Levels
    • if no qualifications, individuals are required to be 21 years old and must pass the first 2 papers of part 1 before they proceed with the rest of the syllabus. (This is the Mature Student Entry Requirement - MSER)
    • CAT
    • Dip FM complete
    • AAT
    • CABS and DABS (UB/BIAC)
    • HND ABS (BIAC)
    • Degree in Accounting/Accounting & Finance (UB) - eligible for exemptions
    • Business related Degree
    • Non Accounting/ Business degree

  • CAT (Certified Accounting Technician) - This is a Technician level qualification which is designed to equip the individual with all the necessary technical skills and knowledge required to fulfill a support role in accountancy. Upon completion of the course one may move directly to Part 2 of the ACCA professional scheme. The entry requirements are:
    • Minimum: age 16 years and basic education

  • DipFM (Diploma in Financial Management) - This is a post graduate diploma for non finance managers. The entry requirements are:
    • A recognised degree, higher national certificate/diploma or a non-accounting professional qualification
    • If no qualifications; individuals must be at least 23 years of age, ability to demonstrate with an employer’s reference that the diploma will be relevant to your work. If you are self-employed, a reference from an accountant, solicitor/attorney or bank manager will be required.
