About ACCA

ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is the largest and fastest-growing international accountancy body with 424,000 students and 147,000 members in 170 countries. We deliver our qualifications in partnership with many organisations. We operate 21 joint examination schemes with national bodies around the world and work closely with 420 registered tuition providers and 7,500 employers of accountants and finance professionals. Our suit of Qualifications

  • ACCA Professional – Divided into 2 Parts, Fundamentals (Knowledge and Skills) and Professional, this qualification leads to one becoming a Chartered Certified Accountant. Exemptions may be awarded based on the qualification that one holds. No exemptions are awarded at the final level (Professional). The entry requirements are:
    • Minimum: 2 A levels and 3 O Levels
    • If no qualifications, individuals are required to be 21 years old and must pass the first 2 papers of part 1 before they proceed with the rest of the syllabus. (This is the Mature Student Entry Requirement - MSER)
    • CAT
    • Dip FM complete
    • AAT
    • CABS and DABS (UB/BICAC)
    • HND ABS (BICAC)
    • Degree in Accounting/Accounting & Finance (UB) - eligible for exemptions
    • Business related Degree
    • Non Accounting/ Business degree
  • CAT (Certified Accounting Technician) - This is a Technician level qualification which is designed to equip the individual with all the necessary technical skills and knowledge required to fulfill a support role in accountancy. Upon completion of the course one may move directly to Part 2 of the ACCA professional scheme. The entry requirements are:
    • Minimum: age 16 years and basic education
  • DipFM (Diploma in Financial Management) - This is a post graduate diploma for non finance managers. The entry requirements are:
    • A recognised degree, higher national certificate/diploma or a non-accounting professional qualification
    • If no qualifications; individuals must be at least 23 years of age, ability to demonstrate with an employer’s reference that the diploma will be relevant to your work. If you are self-employed, a reference from an accountant, solicitor/attorney or bank manager will be required

ACCA/BICA Fees & Initial Registration

The following fees are applicable in 2011-2012 and are subject to change without written notice.

Annual Subscription (Payable on 1 January following date of registration) GBP 76 + P 30 Admin Fee
Examination Fees - payable before each exam:

 

 

Knowledge GBP 61 per paper + P 30 Admin Fee
Skills GBP 76 per paper + P 30 Admin Fee
Professional GBP 89 per paper + P 30 Admin Fee
Exemption fees are the same as examination fees.
Re-registration fees: GBP 76 + amount owing at the time of suspension from the ACCA register + re-registration fee P 740 +  P30 administration fee
